Field Sales Agent
The Field Sales Agent turns every store visit into a directed, measured action. It briefs each rep before they walk in and captures the outcome when they walk out — closing the loop between what head office planned and what actually happened on the shelf.
What a Field Sales Agent does
The Field Sales Agent is an Execution-family agent in the FMCG Cloud Agent Taxonomy. Its job is the daily reality of route-to-market: a rep, a journey plan, and a sequence of outlets to work. Before each call, the agent assembles a visit brief specific to that outlet — what to push, what was last ordered, which SKUs are out of distribution, which promotion is live, what was promised on the previous call, and the one or two objectives that matter most at this door. The rep arrives knowing the store, not guessing at it, and the same brief reaches every rep on every route with the same discipline.
During and after the visit, the agent captures the outcome. It records what was ordered, what was checked, which tasks were completed and which were skipped, photos and notes from the call, and the reason an objective did or didn't land. Because the agent both briefs and captures on the same pass, the next visit's brief is already smarter — an unmet objective rolls forward, a stockout becomes a follow-up, a competitor sighting becomes a flag. Field sales force automation usually stops at logging a check-in; this agent is built to drive the call and learn from it.
All of this runs on the ConnectX data layer, the single FMCG Cloud data model shared across the route to market. That means the Field Sales Agent doesn't work from a private silo of visit logs — it reads the same order history, segments, promotions, and outlet records the rest of the platform uses, and it writes its visit outcomes back where every other agent can use them. An order captured in the field is an order the planning side already sees; a shelf gap flagged on a call is a gap the rest of the system can act on. Like every solution in the FMCG Cloud marketplace, a Field Sales Agent must earn FMCG Verified certification, so its data handling, observability, and interoperability are held to a published standard rather than taken on trust.
Why it matters on one data model
Field execution is where most of an FMCG plan is won or lost, and it's also where visibility is thinnest. Reps carry a lot of context in their heads, brand teams set objectives that never quite reach the door, and the record of what happened on a visit — if it exists at all — usually sits in a separate app that the rest of the business can't act on. The Field Sales Agent matters because it makes the visit itself the system of record: every call carries a clear brief in and a structured outcome out, so coverage, objective completion, and order capture become things you can see and steer instead of things you hope are happening.
Because it lives on one data model alongside ordering, shelf, route, and segmentation agents, the Field Sales Agent compounds rather than fragments. The brief gets sharper as more of the route-to-market runs on FMCG Cloud, the captured outcomes feed planning and replenishment directly, and the field stops being a blind spot. That is the point of an agents-first Industry Cloud for FMCG — not another dashboard to check after the fact, but a working agent that does the field job and leaves the whole system better informed for the next call.
The trust layer
What “FMCG Verified Field Sales Agent” guarantees
Every Field Sales Agent on the marketplace — first-party or partner — must clear the same six criteria before it earns the mark.

MCP & A2A interoperability — the agent consumes and emits on the one FMCG Cloud data model.
Observability
Emits the standard event schema — every action shows in the activity feed with an auditable decision trail.
Performance
Meets the per-family latency SLOs — execution-family responses in seconds, finance-family in batch windows.
Security review
Passes the platform security review — least-privilege data access, scopes disclosed at install.
Support SLO
The vendor commits to the published support response times for its tier.
Data-handling posture
Documented residency, retention and tenant isolation — no cross-tenant training without opt-in.
